This is the census page showing Robert Rushton, brother of Hiram. He was living with his wife’s family (the Durrachs or Daraghs) in 1901.
This may be the answer to the mysterious Velma Rushton’s identity. In this census, Robert has a daughter named Valina B. In the pictures from St. Thomas, there is a young girl named Velma and the women listed behind her are Aunt Mary and Aunt Annie: Mary Darrach Rushton (Robert’s wife) and her sister–Annie Durrach?
When Robert died in Brant, Ontario, his obituary mentions his daughter, Mrs. Clifford Jones.
