Edward Billings and Elinor Foote Lodge

I was updating more pages tonight and I started down a winding path to more discoveries (as usual).

As I was transferring census pages from their html versions to WordPress, I looked at the Billing/s family in 1871 and realized two things. 1. I have never found Edward and Elinor in 1881, and 2. I don’t know what happened to my great-grandpa John Albert’s sister.

Now these two minor things may not bother most people, but these are unresolved mysteries that have been dangling around the back of my head for a couple decades now. So, of course, I had to dig into Ancestry and Family Search records.

And… I still don’t know the answers. However, I did find Edward and Elinor’s marriage record! They were married in Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada, on April 7, 1853. To this day, I had “sometime between 1851 and 1853″ as their marriage date in my tree. I don’t recall how I came to that conclusion, and I’m too tired to look right now, since it’s 3am. lol All I know is that there have been many more records photographed and transcribed since the last time I delved into genealogy, and I can’t wait to discover more. This particular record was published online in March 2017.

Anyway, here is the record!
