TOOK THE PRISONER FROM HIM
On the Way to Prison, but Was Undoubtedly Lynched.
Richmond, Va., September 4. -- A Keysville, Va., special to the Dispatch says the case of the Pollard murderers has prevented a Lunenburg culprit from going to trial. Yesterday a negro attempted to assault a daughter of Andrew Shelton, ten miles from here. The negro was captured and given a preliminary hearing before Justice Eubank, who committed him to jail, and Mack Palmore was appointed to convey the negro to jail. Mr. Palmore was here today and stated that on his way to jail yesterday evening he was overpowered by a party of unmasked men, who took the prisoner from him and rode rapidly off through the woods. All efforts to find the prisoner or his body have proven futile. It is safe to assert that he was lynched.
Mac D's census listing says, married 46 years.
Mrs. Mary H. Palmer, age 88, born Charlotte County, Va., resided in Va. 84 years, resided in Lunenburg County 25 years, resides - Ontario PO, RFD No 1, Lunenburg, Va., resides with son, GM Palmer, husband's full name Mack Daniel Palmer, married Oct. 19, 1884, in Charlotte County, Va., by Preacher Taylor, husband died in Soldier's Home, Richmond, Va., 4/8/30 of old age, not married since death of husband, signed 18th of August, 1930 in Lunenburg County, Va.
